Letters Dear Mr. Blanks,
For months I have been wanting to communicate to you the joy I find in your magazine House and Home. I visited a wonderful friend last year in Gloucester, Virginia and she introduced me to the book. She has been mailing it to me ever since. I can hardly wait to page through the magazine from the front to back not wanting to miss anything. It offers such a variety of topics on family, gardens, décor, environment, history and fun—and the photography is outstanding. Thanks again for good reading. —Marilyn Zandy, Chesterfield, Virginia
Dear Judy Ripley and
The House and Home Magazine, I was in Kilmarnock, picked up The House and Home Magazine and to my delight saw your article. Our father sold our “Garber’s Goose Grove” to the developer and we lost touch with our “summer headquarters.” A year ago my daughter and grandchildren visited Hughlett Point to discover it was now “public property.” Needless to say, we were very touched that such an incredible property could be enjoyed by all. I think too that our father would be very pleased at how the story ended. Thank you for your lovely article. —Nan Garber Riggs
Dear Mr. Blanks, I read the articles in your magazine about the Floating Theater. I found my Aunt’s comment. Her name was Deborah Bramble Conklin. I loved her very much. I learned something about my Grandfather, Lewin Bramble and his connection to the Floating Theater. How wonderful that made me feel! I have always loved House and Home. I usually pick it up every time I come to Virginia to visit my family. It is a beautifully done magazine. It is a wealth of information for anyone who is new to the area or for the people who already live there. I have found restaurants that I did not know existed, shops and historical places that I plan to visit and property sales. In a world that, at times, seems turned upside down, it is comforting to sit and read a magazine that gives you a sense of peace. Thank you for publishing it. —Linda Knott, Leonardtown, MD
